Abode Summer Workshop: a wrap-up

20 Jul

Last night was Abode’s first workshop in a while..and I thought it was so much fun!

The theme was Burlap and we made these really cute wreaths out of burlap and coat hangers (who would have thought?!)

Here are just a few pictures from the night…

Some of the featured projects we had at the workshop..

The burlap wreath

This was actually not even the wreath I made, but one  made by one of the workshop attendees!

These ladies are working hard

I love this picture.  I told them to look like they were having the best time (which they were!) and this is how the picture turned out! ; )

My roommate had to leave before the group picture, but I just had to show off her wreath.  Look at that bow!

The whole crew.

I’m so proud!

At the workshop, I made a bean dip that was a hit!   The ladies at the workshop loved it so much, they asked me to post the recipe to the blog…well here it is!

Aunt Becky’s Bean Dip

2 cans black beans, rinsed

1 can mexicala corn, rinsed

2 avocados, chopped

1 red pepper, chopped

2 packets of Good Season’s Italian Dressing

1/3 cup oil (canola or olive)

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

Mix it all together and serve with scoops corn chips or pita chips…..and enjoy!

Thanks again to everyone who came out!

Our next workshop will be in October and I’m already excited for it!

From our Abode to yours,

Mollie
